CrossFit Workout Gets Good Press

Here's a recent article from the Cleveland Plain Dealer about CrossFit workouts. It's a positive piece and it focuses a little bit on the challenges involved in CrossFit.

Here's an excerpt of the article:

As an occasional triathlete, I've grown quasi-comfortable switching from one sport to another. Assuming I can swim, I usually don't have much trouble in a triathlon jumping out of the water and onto a bike, or from there into a run.

But boy did I have trouble with CrossFit, a fitness program in which transition is the founding principle. Slogging my way through one of its timed, circuit workouts, I quickly came to feel like throwing in the towel, even as I sensed the benefits.

The concept, at least, was easy. As my Lakewood-based instructor, Paul Zagaria, explained to me, CrossFit advocates believe above all else that specialization leads to injury and underdevelopment.
